英文摘要 | Under unsymmetric bending and shearing due to load in a fixed direction, an effective moment of inertia for a prismatic beam with arbitrary cross section is defined and interpreted in terms of the Mohr's circle. Conventional formulas for the flexure stress, the shear flow, and the curvature in the symmetric case are generalized to the unsymmetric case by replacing the principal moment of inertia by the effective moment of inertia. |
