英文摘要 | This paper presents the history of the reading societies in the diocese of Kristians, Norwayin 18th century. The author examines how these reading societies functioned in that age, including their members, members' reading abilities, and what books did they read, etc. Finally, the author touches the issue of the social role of thee reading societies as a social instrument in the hands of the authorities, or as an expression of a new, more critical public debate. |
