中文摘要 | 本文針對同位素比值質譜儀,分析微量碳酸鈣標本(二氧化碳氣體體積小於100微 升)之精確度做一有系統之評估。結果顯示其精確度因標本量之不同而異,且無任何線性關 係。雖然不同研究室所使用之質譜儀容有不同,以本研究所用之質譜儀而言,分析之最佳氣 體範圍應在20-40微升之間。本文亦針對重複連續測定微量二氧化碳標本時,因同位素分化 效應,所引致之同位素值逐漸變重之現象做一實例說明。凡此種種,均為現今古海洋學研究 中有關古海水溫度推算上首須予以考量之課題。唯其如此,才能確保高辨識分析結果之品質 。 |
英文摘要 | The precision of isotopic analysis of trace CO2 samples at 10-100μ levl using a modern isotopic ratio mass spectrometer was investigated in this study. Results show that it varies considerably over different ranges of CO2 analyzed and no simple correlation can be observed. It thus suggests that isotopic analysis of trace CO2 samples is better performed with an optimal range of CO2 in order to ensure high quality data. Since analyzing the carbon and oxygen isotopic compositions of extraordinarily low yield of CO2 from biogenic carbonate samples has become a routine task in studying the high-resolution marine time-series records, results from this study shall shed light upon paleotemperature estimates and the associated paleoceanographic research. |
