中文摘要 | 本文報告我們研究鴛鴦湖有機沉積物碳同位素地化之結果。我們的目的是去發覺 沉積物中所隱藏的古氣候資訊。我們分析從岩心YYL-2及YYL-2-pilot所取此類沉積物樣品的 δ□C□值。所得結果顯示此看來單調的沉積物中有機碳之δ□C□變化很大。其變化之特 性有搖擺式及漸變式二種。搖擺式的幅度可大至4□左右,而小至 0.5□左右。漸變式則在 約六十公分長的岩心間增、減約2□。 我們解釋這些變化為相應鴛鴦湖自然保護區植被δ□C□值變化的結果。當大氣中濕度較 低,而引起植被的□C含量變高或土壤及基盤之有機物相對增高時,相應之有機沉積物也 含較高量之□C。反過來,當大氣濕度變高而其植被之□C含量較低或土壤及基盤之有機物 相對減低時,該沉積物則含較少量之□C。這表示在過去四千年左右內,鴛鴦湖自然保護 區一帶曾經歷多次乾旱氣候。乾旱程度有嚴厲者也有較溫和者。另外,該地區目前的濕度 情形,與過去相較,則即非“乾旱”亦非“潮濕”。過去五、六百年來,該區的氣候,則 有漸漸變潮濕的趨勢。 我們所觀察到的δ□C□值之變化現象應該是區域性的。因此,此處所報告的結果,提供 該地區一個很好的地層對比的工具。 |
英文摘要 | Stable carbon-isotope study of organic sediments from cores YYL-2 and YYL-2-pilot was carried out to investigate the paleolimnology of Yuen-Yang Lake and paleoclimate of northern Taiwan in the last few thousand years. δ□C□ values of the organic sediments are quite heterogeneous. Both excursion and fluctuation in the values are present. Magnitudes of the fluctuation range from about 0.5 to about 4 per mil, while that of the excursion is about 2 per mil over an interval of about 60 centimeters of the cores. We interpret the changes as changes in the isotopic composition of the source organic carbon in the Reserve in the past. This implies that the region had experienced several severe as well as mild dry and, perhaps hot climate in the last four thousand years. In comparison with the past, present day climate of the region is neither "wet" nor "dry". It appears that in general climate of the region has gradually become more humid during the last several centuries, and are comparable to that of the first few centuries after the birth of the Lake. The fluctuation in the δ□C□ va1ues provides an excellent means for stratigraphic correlation in the region. The fluctuation is undoubtedly a regional phenomenon. |
