英文摘要 | Experimental efforts were made to study the characteristics of flow downstream of an orifice plate as the pipe flow varying with respect to time. Laser velocimetry measurements were performed to obtain the information of the instantaneous streamwise velocity in the flow field. The phase-averaged velocity data were able to reveal the flow structure in a two-dimensional coordinate system successfully. On the other hand, by comparing the volume flow rates calculated at different streamwise locations based on the streamwise velocity data obtained, one realizes that flow downstream of the orifice plate behaves three-dimensionally. The pressure variations measured on the wall of the pipe under the unsteady conditions were further reduced according to the phase-averaging procedure. It is found that the pressure variations are mainly caused by the unsteady motion of the regulating device downstream of the orifice plate. |
