英文摘要 | There are many defects existing in our current English teaching environment. The traditional language teaching approach employed by most schools of Taiwan fails to achieve the real goal of language teaching English teaching in Taiwan focuses primarily on grammar teaching and neglects the importance of developing students' communicative skills. The purpose of this paper is to provide our English teaching with an alternative language teaching approach which trise to improve the defects we currently have and lead our English education to a proper route which can effectively meet the purpose of learning a foreign language. The approach is divided into five parts. The first part emphasizes the importance of developing students' communicative skills. The second part suggests that language teaching must be contextualized because a meaningful context can help students relate the form to another aspect of their experience. The advantages of group work and cooperative learning are discussed in the third part. Then the controversial relationship between testing and teaching is examined in the fourth part. The last part stresses the importance of bding an open-minded teacher. |
