英文摘要 | This paper based itself on Huang (1996a) and Huang (1996b) in the effort to put research into practice in my EFL classroom. All these papers derived from my own puzzlement of using the pen-and-pencil final examinations to assess the oral-aural skills which I emphasize in the English Conversation course. I wondered whether those paper-format tests can measure the goals of the courses such as Listening Comprehesion and English Conversation classes. Therefore, the purpose of these research is to find resources on how could I, an EFL teacher, improve oral skills among graduates from this new department of Applied Foreign Language. I proposed that we English teachers reflect upon this so-called "technologies of instruction" (Heinich and others, 1993) in our attempts to improve EFL instruction. The application of (soft) technology is defined as an application of human learning to solving instructional problems. I suggest that we implement non-paper-format oral assessment techniques as our instructional (teaching) and evaluation strategies in our EFL classrooms to elicit our desired oral English fluency. Two new course designs were laid out based on the soft technology. |
