英文摘要 | The clarification and component distribution of west indian cherry juice treated with microfiltration and ultrafiltration were studied using 0.45 μ m, 20,000, 50,000 and 200,000 Dalton nominal M.W. cut-off membranes. The rejection of glucose, fructose and ascorbic acid was between 0 to 45% and remained constant or increased slightly as the volume concentration ratio (VCR) increased. Results of color measurement indicated that the color of the permeate was light pink and that clarification of the permeate increased. The concentrations of glucose, fructose and ascorbic acid in the permeate and retentate at various VCR with various molecular weight cut-off size membranes were calculated using a mathematical model. The calculated data were in good agreement with the experimental data. |
