英文摘要 | The interfacial reaction, substructure evolution and mechanical response of a Ti-6A1-4V thinsheet reinforced with 42 B涎-coated B long fibers were studied. The material was first shockloaded dynamically in a gas gun at a speed of 525 m/sec and a pressure of ~6.5 GPa, resulting in adynamic strain in the matrix of ~7. The strain rate during shock-loading was estimated to be inthe neighborhood of 10 to 10 s-. Post-shock reload tests at a low strain rate were then applied tothe as-shocked composites in order to trace the mechanical response due to shock-loading. Thedynamic deformation behaviors were compared with those under quasi-static low strain rate deformation (strain rate ~ 3x10- s-). Preliminary results revealed that the composites did not gain significant strengthening via shock-loading. In contrast, the post-shock tension failure strain increasedby more than two times, accompanied by a considerable loss of elastic modulus. The underlyingcauses are discussed. On the other hand, the interfacial reaction zone, substructure in the Ti matrix(mainly planar slip bands and deformation twins), and fracture mode after dynamic and quasi-staticdeformation were investigated. The results are rationalized in consistent with the mechanical behav |
