英文摘要 | The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that may affect scholastic achievements of junior high school students. The factors studied are reasoning, memory, attention, language, and motor ability. The subjects of this experiment, including 140 for intelligence test; 16, for language test; 100, for motor test, are chosen from Nanmen Junior High School, in Taipei City. They are divided, on the basis of scholastic achievement, into group A and group B. The former are superior significantly to the latter. Both have been given tests concerned, to see whether group A is better than group B. Then correlation of these factors and scholastic achievement is also studied. The results obtained are summarized as follows: I. Group A excels group B in reasnoing test (p<0.001), memory test (p<0.01), and attention test (p<0.01). II. Group A exceeds group B in language tests, i.e. articulation test, echo test(p<0.001), auditory discrimination test (p<0.05), auditory memory test (p<0.01), the expression test (p<0.01). As it is convinced, the language abilities are not only closely related to literature study, but also to social studies and mathematics. III. As to motor ability test, the differences between the groups are very significant. In view of the nature of motor abilities, simple muscle and hand-visual coordination have more closely related to scholastic achievement. The Correlation, therefore, in group A is much higher than in group B. |
