中文摘要 | 本研究以臺大實驗林開農台柳杉造林地為例,分析強烈颱風艾瑞絲風害對開農台柳杉造林地中林木生長之影響。結果顯示本試驗地於林齡30 年(1955 年)時,強烈風害造成大量林木風倒死亡,計損失樣木94 株,留存樣木數量由248 株,減少為154 株;分析風害前後直徑級分布特性以及災後之生長趨勢,此風害對林分結構與蓄積量生長的影響相似於強度下層疏伐之效果。於1956 年記錄中林分每公頃胸高斷面積總合及材積蓄積量大幅減少,主要原因是株數減少所致;分析由風害前後的生長量可知風害後5 與13 年生時胸徑平均生長量與風害前相近,而在13 年生時即有大幅生長率的上升,留存木的胸高斷面積、樹高及材積蓄積量則增加,建議未來在對柳杉人工施業時,若能應用下層疏伐達到此效益,一來可以避免林木因風害受傷而有生長減緩之虞,二來下層疏伐本身也能達到阻抗風害與生產小徑木之效益。 |
英文摘要 | This study analyzed the effects of the strong typhoon Iris on growth of Kai-Nong-Tai Cryptomeria japonica plantation in the experimental forest of NTU. The result shows that the study site was damaged by wind in 1955 (at age 30) and left lots of collapses and dead trees. Only 154 trees remained out of 248, and 94 trees were lost. Analyzing the characteristic of diameter distribution and growth trend before and after the typhoon, wind damage has similar effect as intense low thinning on stand structure and growing stock. The basal area and volume stock was reduced substantially in 1956. The main reason was the reduction of trees, but the basal growth at breast height and growth stock of individual tree was increased. According to the analysis of growth trend before and after the wind damage, the stand’s growth stock is similar in the 5th and 13th years after the wind damage. A substantial increase in growth rate of 13s was observed, such as diameter at breast height, basal area, tree height and volume stock. It is suggested that the application of lower thinning can avoid wind damage induced growth rate reduction and small log production. |
