中文摘要 | 本文是針對楊老師在希臘雅典大學的博士論文嘗試加以解讀。但依據的只是他以中英文發表的兩篇論文,是不完整的,希望有後來者能讀懂希臘文做更深刻的解讀。在引用了相關的旁證之後,可以確定楊老師將孔子的禮與亞理斯多德的「正理」相對,是有相當高的相似性;孔子的義則與亞理斯多德的「實用智慧」接近,雖然這方面的證據較薄弱,但後續有類似的說法。仁則是孔子的重要概念,其人性的基礎比亞理斯多德建基於知識論的傳統要來得紮實。這也是兩者的重要差異。相信楊老師此一著作可算是對此一議題的中西比較哲學的先驅,他的觀點可做為以後寫作中國哲學史的學者的重要參考。 |
英文摘要 | While this article attempts to interpret Professor Yang's doctoral dissertation from the University of Athens, however, the interpretation is only based on his two articles in Chinese and English. The author of this article acknowledges his inadequacy for this attempt, therefore this interpretation is only tentative. On one hand, with evidences from latter scholars in the field, is it confirmed that Yang's comparison of Confucian li to Aristotelian Orthos Logos is highly relevant. On the other hand, there seems to be less evidence from latter scholars to support whether Yang's comparison of Confucius's yi with Aristotle's practical wisdom is relevant. In addition, Ren is a very important concept in Confucian ethics and is based on human nature, whereas Aristotelian ethics has no corresponding concept as it is based more on cognitive classification. Emeritus Professor Yang was a pioneer on this topic, and his perspective could be an important reference for scholars in the field of comparative philosophy. |
