中文摘要 | 臺灣許多森林遊憩場域設有木造建築(小木屋、涼亭等)供遊客休憩,由於山區的木造建築長期暴露於潮濕的自然環境中,有被白蟻危害的隱憂。為瞭解山區木造建築周圍環境存在之白蟻物種及其危害潛力,本研究針對國立臺灣大學實驗林管理處所轄之鳳凰自然教育園區內的小木屋周圍環境,進行白蟻物種調查、監測與防治。在試驗樣區內共埋設162根放射松木樁,從2014年3月至2016年10月(共32個月),每月檢查木樁損耗狀況並記錄取食木樁的白蟻物種。監測結果顯示有兩種白蟻,分別為臺灣土白蟻(Odontotermes formosanus (Shiraki))及黃肢散白蟻(Reticulitermes flaviceps (Oshima))。臺灣土白蟻出現在 42根木樁共60次;黃肢散白蟻則出現在15根木樁共57次。柯史檢定(Kolmogorov-Smirnov test)顯示兩種白蟻對單一木樁的取食頻率有顯著差異,黃肢散白蟻會長期且持續利用特定位置的木樁,對小木屋造成嚴重危害的風險較高,應為臺灣山區木造建築主要的白蟻危害物種。多樣本中位數差異檢定(Kruskall-Wallis test)顯示黃肢散白蟻的發生具有顯著季節性,發生率於7至12月間較高,簡單回歸分析(Simple linear regression)則顯示黃肢散白蟻的發生與月均溫變化無關。本研究於2016年11月,在兩個持續發現黃肢散白蟻活動的地下監測站施用白蟻餌劑(Recruit HD bait)進行防治,可於7個月內有效抑制餌站及其周圍的黃肢散白蟻活動。 |
英文摘要 | Wood is a common construction material used in mountain scenic areas in Taiwan. Because wood houses are exposed to humid environments, wood construction is very likely infested by termites. To understand termite as potential pests of wood houses, 162 wood stakes were installed in the surroundings of wood houses in the Fenghuang Nature Education Area that is governed by the Experimental Forest of National Taiwan University. Wood stakes were inspected monthly, from March 2014 to October 2016 (32 months). Two termite species, fungus-growing termite Odontotermes formosanus (Shiraki) and subterranean termite Reticulitermes flaviceps (Oshima) were found. O. formosanus occurred on 42 wood stakes for a total of 60 times, and R. flaviceps occurred on 15 wood stakes for a total of 57 times. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test showed that no significant difference of wood stake consumption between the two termite species. R. flaviceps remained in a wood stake longer than O. formosanus, indicating that R. flaviceps is more likely the major pest of wood houses in mountain areas. Kruskall-Wallis test showed that occurrence of R. flaviceps was seasonal, which increased in July-December. Simple linear regression showed that no correlation was found between occurrence of R. flaviceps and average monthly temperature fluctuation. In November 2016, termite baits with noviflumuron (Recruit HD bait) were applied to two R. flaviceps infested stations. Baits successfully suppressed termite activity in seven months. |
