中文摘要 | 現今市售保健食品之葉黃素的來源主要為萬壽菊的花瓣,而微藻亦有生產葉黃素之能力。為了解微藻是否具作為葉黃素膳食補充品之優勢,本研究使用在高雄水域採集之耐熱微藻,以光生物反應器 (photobioreactor) 於戶外條件培養並分析其葉黃素含量,再與市售葉黃素補充劑食品比較。柵藻(Desmodesmus sp. F2)及經紋球藻 (Coelastrella sp. F50)於戶外培養八日後收穫細胞,再以高效液相層析儀分析。其葉黃素含量分別為乾重的0.67%及0.56%。由於微藻之生長效率高,且微藻中葉黃素為游離態,相較於植物中的酯化態更易被人體利用。微藻養殖可利用非農耕區域,不與農業競爭土地,因此微藻是理想的葉黃素來源。 |
英文摘要 | The main lutein source in dietary supplements is the flower petals of marigold currently. Microalgae also contain high levels of lutein. To understand the advantage using microalgal lutein as dietary supplements, thermotolerant microalgae Desmodesmus sp. F2 and Coelastrella sp. F50 were cultivated in photobioreactors in outdoor conditions for eight days in tropical Taiwan. Their lutein contents were assayed by using HPLC, which were 0.67% and 0.56% in dry biomass, respectively. In contrast to diester forms of marigold lutein, microalgal lutein is predominantly free form which has better bioavailability. The growth rates of microalgae are high and they can be cultivated on non-arable land. Therefore microalgae are a better source of lutein than marigold. |
