中文摘要 | 雲棲蓮池株宏大師(1535-1615)是明末四大高僧之一,人稱「蓮宗八祖」。不僅在明代晚葉的淨土宗弘揚上具有極大的貢獻,在近現代的中國淨土思想亦受蓮池大師的影響極大。運池大師的著作全集稱為雲棲法彙,共計三十二卷。對後世具有較重大影響的作品主要有阿彌陀經疏鈔四卷、往生集三卷、淨土疑辦一卷、禪喇策進二卷、梵網經戒疏發隱五卷、楞伽經摸象記一卷、腦門崇行錄一卷、山房雜錄三卷、竹窗隨筆二卷等。蓮池大師的思想,雖以淨土為歸趣。然而其《阿彌陀經疏鈔》中,則兼重禪、淨、教、律,並體現出融會事理,指歸唯心的理論特徵。蓮池大師不僅是淨土義理的闡發者,同時也是實踐者。蓮池大師在明末佛教界的地位,及其淨土思想,有承上啟下,繼往開來的重要性與影響力。本文擬以明末佛教為背景,以《阿彌陀經疏鈔》為中心,試圖探究蓮池大師在《阿彌陀經疏鈔》中所呈顯的淨土念佛法門中的「一心不亂」義。雖然蓮池大師的「一心不亂」義的思想研究者不乏其人,然而筆者仍以蓮池大師的『一心不亂」之淨土思想詮釋為論題,實因從現代的角度來看,運池大師的「一心不亂」的功夫境界含具著佛教的終極關懷恨(Ultimate Concern):令有限的存在性契入無限的永恆性。在蓮池大師那裏主張,通過持名念佛能滌除心意識的二元對立性所帶來的計執性與染污性,讓生命從煩惱束縛中解脫,克服有限與無限的緊張對立,以化解生存與死亡的困惑與焦慮。在《阿彌陀經疏鈔》那里,蓮池大師認為面對存在的有限性焦慮,行者若能通過一向專念阿彌陀佛名號,當念佛功夫達至一心不亂時,便能消解自我心意識的計執性,讓行者從在纏受縛的在世存在(Being-in-the-world),契入自在(Being-in-itself)的境界,甚而能令行者了脫生死出三界,超越存在的有限性成為無限的永恆性存在,起克存在有限性的困境。植基於此,本文試圖通過蓮池大師對「一心不亂」的內容定義,並對比同為明末四大師智旭孺益(1599-1655)大師的「一心不亂」義的異間,來呈顯蓮池大師所詮釋的「一心不亂」所能起到的作用:解消意識的二元對立性的作用,讓生命從主客對立的枷鎖中解放而走向以境繫心,境心一如之主客統一的自由。能讓意識脫離相對性的意識所造成的妄想、分別、執著所帶來的煩惱痛苦等情識繫縛,甚至究竟解決未能契證宇宙法性實相、真理所受到的法身常漏之苦。 |
英文摘要 | The Initial Approach of Pure Land Buddhism reached its height at the end of the Ming Dynasty. At that time, it was highly advocated by Buddhist leaders. Among them, no other Buddhist masters had the dedication, achievement and influence of Master Lanchi, Yun-Qi Zhu-Hong, who was one of the four eminent monks and honored as the "Eighth Master of Lotus Zong." Master Lanchi's status in Buddhism and his thoughts regarding Pure Land have been important and influential, not only passing on past learning, but carrying on the heritage for future generations. These thoughts emphasize meditation, clarification, instruction, and regulation, which contribute to the ideal of Pure Land. The ideas of Pure Land are primarily incarnated in the Master's "Amitabha Sutra Exegesis", which is spirit-oriented and subject-comprehended. This exegesis embodies both his main method and his idea of practice for PureLand. It includes Huayan school theory, the conduct of Zen, and the teaching of Tiantai. The "Amitabha Sutra Exegesis" belongs not only to the immediate teaching but also to the complete or perfect teaching of the Huayan and the three studies, meditations, or insights, which are the most general group of Tiantai, combined into one all-embracing vehicle. While he mentions the unchanging character of Buddha nature and mind-only Pure Land, nevertheless, the first priority must be to seek to reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, and with an undivided and faithful mind to chant the Buddha's name. This paper is based on the "Amitabha Sutra Exegesis" written by Master Lanchi, and discusses his concepts regarding The Pure Land, the practice and theory of the Dharma-door of Buddha-recitation. We may completely understand the value of the Amitabha Sutra as manifested through the Exegesis written by Master Lanchi. |
