英文摘要 | From a historical perspective, the Opium War in the twentieth year of the reign of Daoguang (1840) was a key factor in the disconuation of the Qing’s policy. In order to ensure the smoothness and success of their preaching efforts, the Catholic Church of prohibiting Christianity chose to compromise with the cultures. It is easy to see signs of localization in the Cizhong Catholic church. Designs of Buddhism were adopted and used directly in the decoration in the church. In addition, all the chantings were translated into Tibetan, all the icon paintings were framed in the fashion of Tibetan thangkas, and even the activity of praying for rain…… The Authors to provide full name is the Catholic society most active in the localization movement. Localization was acceptable only if the activity did not vialate the Credo. The statue of Jesus stands on the Buddhist lotus flower seat, that is supposed to be the highest level of localization. |
