中文摘要 | 電腦叢集運算的兩大特色為「負載平衡」與「錯誤容忍」。程序移轉(process migration)的技術可用來達成此兩種特色。本研究的主要目的是設計一個提供程序自我移轉的機制。此機制包括兩個主要步驟(1)於本端電腦即時取得欲移轉之程序的映像;(2)在遠端電腦即時重建原程序之映像。為了避免程序不斷執行狀態儲存所帶來的巨大負荷,我們將此機制以函式庫呈現,因此使用者設計程式時,可以透過此函式庫依自行訂定的移轉策略,在必要的時機才執行即時的狀態儲存並啟動程序轉移。在此篇論文中,我們亦以此機制實作連加法、排序、矩陣相乘與最少擴張樹所獲得的數據以驗證此機制的可用性。 |
英文摘要 | Load balance and fault tolerance are two major characteristics of cluster computing. The characteristics can be achieved by employing process migration technique. The purpose of this research is to design a self-aware migration mechanism. There are two major steps in the mechanism: (1) obtaining the image of the process that wants to migrate immediately, (2) rebuilding the original process on remote host based on the saved image. In order to avoid the overhead of storing the process state periodically, the mechanism is implemented as a library. Thus, programmers can place the library call in any place of a program in accordance with the migration strategy established by the programmers. In this paper, summation, sorting, matrix multiplication and minimum spanning tree are used as examples to illustrate the usefulness of our mechanism. |
