中文摘要 | 英國的教育與訓練體系大體以學校為基礎,教育內容則偏重於全時性的普 通教育。但1976 年的「大辯論」之後,逐漸重視教育應該提供更接近學生生活 世界的課程,因而也更強調實務性的職業導向教育。本文主要採用文件分析法, 依序分析英國近年來的職業教育改革,尤其深入說明職業教育發展的主要層面。 首先,在各類證書中引進職業類科;其次,改進學徒制以發展成為工作職場為 主的進路;第三,以擴充教育學院為主,充實職業教育的各類機會。本文歸納 英國職業教育具有下列四項特色:兼重學校教育為主的取向與工作職場為主的 取向、職業教育的規劃明確地從義務教育的後期開始、強調多元化的職業課程 與晉升機會不僅適合學生需要,也體現終身學習的精神、以及提升職業進路的 地位乃是未來重要的挑戰。 |
英文摘要 | The education and training system in England has traditionally been school-based and full-time general education. Since the Great Debate in 1776, it had been increasingly emphasized that education should be made more relevant to students' life world and, therefore, becomemore practical and vocational. By using the main research method of documentary analysis, this paper studies the vocational education in England in the last decade. Three aspects of vocational education were highlighted. First, vocational subjects had been increasingly included in the qualification system such as the A levels, GCSEs and the newly introduced specialized diplomas. Second, apprenticeship system had been restructured as a work-based route. Third, the quality of further education was highlighted and improved. Following this analysis, four features of vocational reform in England are summarized as follows: (a) Vocational education and training in England are both school-based and work-based. (b) It starts from the final stage of ladder with an obligatory education. (c) It includes different curriculum and qualification and transferable pathways which highlight lifelong learning in the nature. (d) It improves the equal status between the general and the vocational paths. |
