中文摘要 | β-羥基-β-甲基丁酸(Beta-hydroxy-Beta-methylbutyrate, HMB)為白胺酸(Leucine)代謝而成的產物,目前廣泛應用在運動員身上做為運動增補劑,以提升肌力、增加瘦體組織提高運動表現等。近年來於動物實驗中亦發現,補充HMB有助於提高骨質代謝作用,進而增加骨骼機械強度與骨密度等特性。目前仍無直接的人體研究探討補充HMB後對骨骼之影響,但在分子生物領域的研究已經證實,補充HMB對調控骨骼代謝的分子機轉有顯著的影響。此外,選手經年累月的練習,往往因高負荷訓練反導致骨質流失,亦可能肇生常造成疲勞性骨折,未來須進一步研究選手補充HMB後,是否減緩因過度訓練而造成的骨質流失現象,甚至提升骨質密度,並探討補充的劑量與時機,是否對疲勞性骨折有正面的助益。 |
英文摘要 | One of the leucine metabolite Beta-hydroxy-Beta-methylbutyrate (HMB) was well-known as an ergogenic aid among bodybuilders and weightlifters. The effects of HMB supplement on muscular system were well-documented but not so fully understand in some other fields, for example, immuno-function or bone metabolism. Currently there was no solid evidence to indicate how HMB supplement affect bone metabolism in human but there were some evidence in animal studies. HMB supplement not only increased bone mineral density but also change bone geometric and mechanical properties in pig, turkey and sheep. Recent evidence also indicates that HMB inhibit nuclear factor kappa B pathway which osteoclast formation extremely relay on it. On the other hand, HMB increased collagen decomposition through activate somatotrophic axis. HMB might increased bone formation in endocrine level and inhibit bone resorption in cellular level and signal transduction level. Further study should focus on the effects of HMB supplement on bone metabolism and the signal transduction pathway of osteoclast formation in human. |
