英文摘要 | This paper considers a discrete replacement model for a two-unit system subject to failure rate interaction and external shocks. Without external shocks, each failure of unit-1 will damage to unit-2 by increasing the failure rate of unit-2 by some amount, while each failure of unit-2 causes unit-1 into instantaneous failure. Besides failure rate interaction, the system is also subject to external shocks which can be divided into two kinds of shocks. Type A shock causes unit-1 into failure and then converts this damage of such a failure to unit-2, while type B shock makes the system total failure. All unit-1 failures are corrected by minimal repairs. A discrete replacement policy n is adopted by which we shall replace the system by a new one at the instant of the nth unit-1 failure or on total failure of the system, whichever occurs first. Introducing costs due to replacements and minimal repairs, an optimal number of minimal repairs before total failure is obtained to minimize the expected cost rate per unit time. The optimal number, n*, is also verified finite and unique under some specific conditions. |
