英文摘要 | The Knight-shifts of liquid non-transition and transition metals of the different groups of the periodic table at their melting point temperature are reported using a model potential formalism. The well known empty core model (EMC) potential of Ashcroft was used for the first time with seven local field correction functions, proposed by Hartree (H), Hubbard-Sham (HS), Vashishta-Singwi (VS), Taylor (T), Ichimaru-Utsumi (IU), Farid et al. (F), and Sarkar et al. (S), in the present computation, and was found to be suitable for such a study. In the calculation of these properties we have used the values of the theoretical structure factors due to the hard core fluid theory. It is concluded that the comparisons of the present results with the theoretical or experimental findings, wherever they exist, are highly encouraging. Also, the successful application of the EMC potential with seven local field correction functions to 51 liquid metals is predicted in the present study. |
