中文摘要 | 當高等教育面臨市場化影響之際,傳承自中世紀大學濫觴之始的天主教高等教育,正面臨天主教會賦予天主教高等教育的辦學理念如何落實之桃戰。為此,本文希望達到四個目的:一、探討天主教高等教育之概要;二、探討高等教育市場化的發展趨勢之影響;三、探討高等教育市場化對天主教高等教育治理與發展的影響;四、探討高等教育市場化對天主教高等教育治理與發展的啟示。本文提出主要論點為:要瞭解市場化對天主教高等教育治理之影響,應該在「國家、市場、高等教育與教會」的分析架構下,同時探討國家政府、市場理念、高等教育學術專業,以及教會領導權威對天主教高等教育的影響。其次,有關市場化對天主教高等教育發展的影響,更應該考慮其希望整合學術研究與宗教信仰的目標;如此,才能在高等教育市場化會加強調「多元」、「專業」與「市場」的理念下,為天主教高等教育找到新定位。再者,本文也認為,天主教高等教育治理方面的董事會與主教領導權威、校長領導的角色,以及平信徒化的發展趨勢等,其實都對其發展構成桃戰。最後,本文的主要論點確實也在天主教高等教育的辦學理念使命傳承的工作中獲得支持。 |
英文摘要 | While higher education worldwide is encountering the impact of marketization, Catholic higher education, descended from the tradition of medieval universities, faces the challenge of how to implement the education ideals of the Roman Catholic Church. This paper presents four major topics: 1) a brief review of Catholic higher education; 2) the impact of the trend of marketization in higher education; 3) the impact of marketization on governance and development of Catholic higher education; 4) lessons learned from the impact in the previous point. The author’s main arguments are that, first; the impact of marketization on the governance of Catholic higher education should be understood from the analytical framework of state, market, and the relationship of higher education and the Church. In other words, the influences of the national government, market forces, the academic profession of high education, and the Magisterium of the Catholic Church should be probed at the same time. Second, the impact of marketization on the development of Catholic higher education should be examined with the goal of the Church to integrate academic research and religious faith. This is the right approach to find the new role of Catholic Higher Education impacted by the marketization emphases of diversity, professionalism, and market. Moreover, the author argues that the development of Catholic higher education faces governance challenges from the board trustees, the Magisterium, the leadership role of school presidents, and the trend of laicization. In conclusion, the main arguments above find support in the education ideals and the mission heritage of Catholic higher education. |
