英文摘要 | Two kinds of ghost money, the Ni Yin Chen and the Ni Ban Lian, were excavated in the Han Tomb No.1 of Ma Wang Duei. There are more than 300 pieces of Ni Yin Chen and about 40 baskets of Ni Ban Lian, each basket containing 2500-3000 pieces, along with clay spheres symbolizing jewelry. This essay describes the form of Ni Yin Chen and the Ni Ban Lian, discusses the lack of real currency in the tombs, and tries connect the phenomenon with the “gold donation law” enforced in the time of Han Wen emperor. The clay plate of Yin Chen derived from the golden currency of the Chu Kingdom and possessed the symbolic value of gold. It showed that the golden currency of the Chu Kingdom was still circulating during the Han Dynasty; it also suggested the geographical characteristics of the minting and circulation of Chinese currency. |
