英文摘要 | Laser and electrocautery fume might be hazardous to the health of operation room personnel in the hospital. The study is aimed to understand the dust concentrations and chemical substances within the fume, and to investigate if a commercially available smoke evacuator can get rid of the fume effectively. Area sampling proceeded in six operation rooms and a nursing station. In the dermatological room, sampling was performed first without and then with a Buffalo filter 602. Besides, fume collected in two rooms was analysed for organic substances. Our results showed that the concentrations of total and respirable dusts lied within legal limits, and the fume contained minute amounts of organic substances. The Buffalo filter 602, when placed near surgical field, can evacuate the fume effectively. |
