英文摘要 | The purpose of this paper is to explore the ideas and practices of teacher education. First, it analyzes the paradigms of competency-based, knowledge-based, reflective practice, and standards-based teacher education. Next, it discusses factors influential in teacher education development, including legislation, educational administration, elementary and high schools, social development, technology development, teacher unions, professional teacher organizations, and nongovernmental education reform groups. Then, it examines the core ideas of teacher education—professionalism, quality and excellence, fairness and justice, ethics, and accountability. It continues to analyze the nature and content of quality teachers in terms of knowledge, competency, and morality. Finally, it presents effective strategies to cultivate qualified teachers. |
