英文摘要 | This study investigated the prevalence of porcine respiratory disease complex (PRDC) and its infectious agents in Taiwan. Two hundred and twenty-two cases collected from 57 commercial pig herds were analyzed. Histopathological examination, isolation and polymerase chain reaction indicated that 61.3% (136/222) of collected cases had PRDC. Among the 136 PRDC cases, 123 were positive for porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2), 115 were positive for Pasteurella multocida (PM), 113 were positive for Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (MH), 61 were positive for Salmonella enter/ca serotype Choleraesuis (SC), 28 were positive for porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), 28 were positive for Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (AP), 13 were positive for Streptococcus suis (SS), and 2 were positive for swine influenza virus. Among those cases infected with PCV2, PM (102/136, 75%) was most prevalent followed by MH (101/136, 74.3%), SC (58/136, 42.6%), and AP (27/136, 19.9%). Based on analytical data, PRDC is an important disease in weaning, growing and finishing pigs. Of the infectious agents present in PRDC, PCV2, the most common pathogen, is frequently concurrent with other pathogens. Thus, PCV2 infection may play an important role in the pathogenesis of PRDC. |
