英文摘要 | In this work we present a theoretical study of electron scattering by atoms in the intermediate and high-energy range. More specifically, we report on the calculated differential cross sections for electron scattering by He and Ne in the 50–500 eV range by the Schwinger variational principle using plane waves as a trial basis set. To include exchange plus polarization effects, we have used the Born-Ochkur model and the Buckingham potential, respectively. The comparison of our calculated results with experimental data and recent theoretical studies is encouraging. |
