英文摘要 | The purpose of the study was to use the stages of change model to explore the perception of benefits and barriers of exercise in clinical nurses. Cross-sectional study design was conducted. Convenient samples were recruited from 2 regional hospitals in Eastern Taiwan . Data was collected by structured- questionnaire, 176 surveys had been distributed with 15 of them being invalid, that made a participation rate of 91.5%. Data was analyzed by descriptive analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, x2 test and Pearson correlation analysis. The results indicated that the participant in preparation stage was 47.8%, in contemplation stage was 23.6%, in precontemplation stage was 15.5%, and in action and maintenance stages were respectively 6.8% and 6.2%. The perceived benefits of exercise with higher score were as the following in order: “exercise promotes healthy life” and “exercise helps metabolism”. The higher score perceived barriers of exercise were: “exercise may cause unnecessary harm” and “without appropriate exercise equipments”. The demographic data: age, marriage status, and perception of health also revealed to have significant impact on the stages of change. Perceived benefits of exercise had significant positive correlation with the stages of change, yet perceived barriers of exercise showed to have negative correlation with the stages of change. |
