中文摘要 | 研究顯示以英語為第二語言的學生(ESL learners)在學習英語時對某些詞素的習得有類似的順序,此相似的習得順序似乎不因學習者的母語背景及年齡大小而有所改變。文獻當中所探討的詞素至少包含進行式字尾-ing、動詞過去式-ed、第三人稱單數動詞字尾-s、複數規則變化字尾-s、所有格字尾's及冠詞the/a(n)等。本研究的目的在於調查臺灣學生學習英語時,也就是說在以英語為外國語言的學習(EFL)環境下是否也可找出相似的習得順序。故本研究針對八個詞素(含上述六個詞素)及問句之句型,設計試題對學生施測,收集所需相關資料。資料分析的方法沿用先前研究者所提之公式。而後以Pienemann(2001)所提之處理能力理論(Processability Theory)及Wei(2000)基於詞素的即時選取順序,所提之4-M Model來解釋詞素的習得順序。結果顯示上述理論無法完全解釋此一現象,且研究發現該順序的成因可能包含:母語的影響、學習者的英語能力及教學效應等,故此議題仍須深入探討。此外研究者提出錯誤分析在了解學生的學習障礙及課程內容的修訂上有其重大貢獻。 |
英文摘要 | It has been proposed that there exists an acquistion order of certain grammatical morphemes in ESL learning. The purpose of the study, thus, is to discover if similar morpheme order would be found to exist in an EFL learning context and to account for why and how the phenomenon is manifested from the perspectives of PT (Processability Theory) and the 4-M Model (a model of morpheme classification). Data elicited by designed writing tasks were collected from fifty-two EFL learners in Taiwan and were analyzed by computerized statistical procedure. The results showed that neither PT or the 4-M Model could be the sole determinant of the acquistion order. The findings indicated that factors such as cross-linguistic influecne, classroom instruction, learners' L2 proficiency and task demands may exert their influence on the learning process in a subtle fashion. Therefore, it is suggested that more research into the effects of processing strategies, and of linguistic or nonlinguistic principles on the learning of these grammatical morphemes is needed. |
