中文摘要 | 本文係以國立臺灣大學人類學系1995年(民國84年)籌劃的「臺灣原住民物質文化」特展為例,回顧民族學展示形成的相關過程;包括由研究者至田野地調查採集而形成的物質文化標本收藏、標本資料的記錄整理與研究出版、以及標本大量累積後面臨的人類文化遺產展現的問題。 在不同發展階段中,民族學標本的安排呈現方式歷經不同的變化:由最初奇風異俗式的陳列、到19世紀自然史演化架構下器物類型分類的取向、再到強調文化脈絡背景的文化區與文化特質展現法、以及文化器物藝術化的形式主義展示。各種不同的展示取向,造成同樣的器物傳遞出不同的文化或知識訊息。本文以臺大人類學系特展的組成為例,說明展示架構、陳列空間安排方法、藏品的選擇、與研究資料運用等因素,可能造成的知訊傳遞效果。 由於異文化器物的展示,不僅是科學性研究資料的呈現,更是展示者在詮釋與溝通過程中對異文化價值觀和態度的反映。因此,如何突破過去的限制,將文化變遷、原住民自我意識等不同觀點,視為可以在展示中詮釋的角度,應該是未來利用民族學標本展現異文化特色時值得嘗試和思考的方向。 |
英文摘要 | Collecting ethographic specimens for research is based on the concept of material culture, since artifacts are examined as improtant material evidences for understanding their cultures by anthropologists. The material culture has been presented to the public in various angles, from the displaying of curiosities, the taxonmy of natural history, contextualization of cultural history, to formalism under artistic view. Different approaches transmitted different messages and knowledge. There are several important elements to be considered in the process of constructing the ethnographic exhibition, such as the perspectives of the conceptual outline, selection of speciments. modes of installation, and the quality of supporting research data. From the case of remodeling an exhibition entitled "Material Cultures of the Formosan Aborgies" in the year of 1995 by Department of Anthropology, National Taiwan University, we could analyze how each element works. As a way of communication, an ethnographic exhibition not only presents the scientific research data, but also represents cultures which interprets the values and attitudes towards other people. Therefore, balancing the concept of humanities and different cultural values are critical challenges in the exhibition of ethnographic collections. |
