中文摘要 | 目的:本研究的目的在以Leiter-R(1997)英文版和WISC-III(民86)中文版兩 套測驗工具評估玉里地區漢族和原住民兒童的智力,並比較其差異,藉以評估簡式Leiter- R英文版在玉里地區的適用性。方法:本研究的樣本係來自玉里地區以漢族為主和以布農族 為主的小學各一所。每所小學各以階層隨機抽樣法選取一、三、五年級各一班,每班再隨機 抽取十六名小學生作為受試者。最後進入分析的有效樣本數共計九十人。結果:研究的主要 發現有:一、關於簡式Leiter-R在玉里地區的使用結果為:1.符合內部一致性。2.同時效度 需進一步驗證。3.建構效度需進一步驗證。4.有高估FIQ的可能。5.文化公平性需進一步驗 證。二、此外,本研究發現平地小學與山地小學在FIQ與BIQ有顯著差異。結論:本研究發現 簡式Leiter-R內部一致性高,且使用上不需使用語言說明,自有其方便性,但若以簡式 Leiter-R英文版的BIQ來推估WISC-III中文版的FIQ,則有高估FIQ的可能性。此外由於本研 究的限制,也使得簡式Leiter-R英文版在同時效度、建構效度和文化公平性上無法得到驗證 。因此未來國內應可針對這三項做更廣泛的研究,並建立臺灣地區常模。 |
英文摘要 | Objective: To assess the appropriateness of the short form of the Leiter International Performance Scale-Revised which is a IQ test in the Yu-Li area of Taiwan. Methods: The subjects enrolled in this study were students recruited from two different primary schools in the Yu-Li area. One school consisted of students from the HAN clan, and the other, students from the BUNU clan. Using stratified random sampling, a total of 96 students were enrolled in this study. In addition to the Leiter International Performance Scale-Revised (1997), the WISC-III Chinese revised-version (1997) which is a IQ test was used for assessment of the concurrent validity of the short form of the Leiter-R (1997). In total, the results for 90 students were analyzed. Results: This study produced several interesting results. Firstly, we demonstrated internal consistency for the short form of the Leiter-R, but concurrent validity, construct validity and lack of culture bias were not confirmed for this study. Secondly, we find that the brief IQ (BIQ) of the Leiter-R was higher than full IQ (FIQ) of the WISC-III. Thirdly, we find that both BIQ for the Leiter-R and the FIQ for the WISC-III of the HAN clan were higher than of the BUNU clan. Conclusion: Although, the short form of the Leiter-R may provide an alternative tool for IQ assessment, with internal consistency which was demonstrated by our study, we were unable to confirm the concurredt validity, construct validity and lack of culture-bias which has been revealed by western studies. These lack of confirmation may have been as a result of the limitations, including small sample size and different statistical mathod, inherent in this study. Further, the short form of the Leiter-R may also overestimate the FIQ of the WISC-III. We suggest that the short form of Leiter-R may be used, with caution, until confirmation of concurrent validity, construct validity and lack of culture-bias in Taiwanese sample populations.
