英文摘要 | The main purposes of this study were to explore the relationships between three demographic variables, critical thinking and emotional intelligence (EI) of junior high school students as well as to propose suggestions for teaching and further research. 547 junior high school students from Tainan and Kaohsiung City participated in this study. The employed instruments included The Test of Critical-Thinking Skills for Primary and Secondary School Students, The Questionnaire of Dispositions toward Critical Thinking, and The Self-Report Scale of Children s Emotional Thinking. The findings revealed that (a) the junior high school students' EI was in a moderate degree; (b) the female students' EI, including intrapersonal intelligence and interpersonal intelligence. was significantly higher than that of the male students; (c) students in different grades did not vary significantly in EI; (d) those who with higher parental educational degree had better EI than those who with lower parental educational degree; and (e) the students' group membership of EI (including high, median, and low), especially the median group, could be effectively predicted by their critical-thinking skills and dispositions. |
