中文摘要 | 本研究以槽式上膠方式對未上膠的手工紙(生紙)進行上膠試驗,此上膠的手工紙除 了要有足夠上膠度以防止水墨、顏料湮滲之外,如何使此上膠手工紙對墨及國畫顏料有良好 的托色效果是本研究的重點,其托色效果則以夙負盛名之大陸蟬翼箋為對照,比較其相對色 力度以視之。以不同緧維原料之原身而言,含棉纖維者要較含雁皮、三椏或構樹等韌皮纖維 者具較高相對色力度。未上膠的原紙中填充各種填料,上膠後會降低墨及國畫顏料之相對色 力度。AKD乳液提供了上好上膠度,但紙之托色效果甚差;使用動物膠上膠雖可增加國畫顏 料之相對色力度,但墨色依舊不佳,且上膠度大抵不足,墨彩多所滲漏;使用苯乙烯共聚合 物的上膠紙,對藤黃及墨汁之托色尚佳,對花青及洋紅之托色效果不盡理想。 |
英文摘要 | The main purpose of this study was to tub-size handmade paper to gain a sufficient sizing degree to prevent feathering and show-through (penetration of ink to the back of the sheet) of the applied ink or paint colorants, while still presenting good hold-out properties for soot-ink and colorants used in Chinses painting. For hold-out comparisons, we used renowned Tsanyichien (literally, cicada wing sheet) manufactured in mainland China as a reference. Relative color strengths of paint strokes on the sheets were compared. Among base sheets made of various raw materials, those made of cotton fiber showed better relative color strengths when compared to base sheets containing gampi (Wilkstroemia indica), mitsumata (Edgeworthia papyrifera) or paper mulberry (Broussonetia papyrifera) base fibers. Internal addition of various fillers led to sized sheets with reduced relative color strengths. AKD (alkyl ketene dimmer) emulsions offered good sizing, but rendered very poor ink hold-out. A1-though sheets sized with animal glue showed enhanced relative color strengths of several Chinese painting colorants, their soot-ink hold-out remained poor. Sizing degree offered by animal glue was insufficient as well, showing a notable degree of feathering. Sheets sized with styrene copolymers showed better ink hold-out for cambogia and soot-ink, but less than ideal hold-out for indigo and carmine. |
