英文摘要 | This paper aims to investigate the possibility of quenching friction instability using high-frequency dither signal. An experimental set-up, consisting of the friction-contact device, the base-excitation mechanism and the air track, which supports and guides the motion of the sliding mass, has been fabricated. Both the tangential-and-normal-direction dither can be applied to the frictional contact so as to eliminate the unstable sliding motion. Preliminary experiments incorporated with tangential dither were conducted to show that dither signals indeed could affect the friction-velocity characteristics. The experiments investigated different contact-material combinations. Through these experiments, it was found that dither signal with specific frequency contents tends to stabilize the frictional system. |
