英文摘要 | This paper presents the decommission programming and dismantlement execution of Tsing Hua Argonaut Reactor (THAR) - the first research reactor decommissioned after being operated for 35 years in this country. In the case of the THAR, contamination and activation were low enough to pose no significant risk to the dismantling personnel. Furthermore, the dose-equivalent values of radwaste management workers are well below the dose limitations stipulated by the authority. It totally took 3693 man hours to complete the dismantlement works of THAR major parts. Later on, following an elaborate radiation survey and safety evaluation, THAR reactor site was released for nonradiation use. Now, a planned memorial garden of THAR is located at the original reactor site and the decommission target of THAR has also been fulfilled. |
