英文摘要 | For most local area network, a large number of personal computers are just for text editing or Internet surfing. The CPU is idle for the most of time. The goal of this study is to fully utilize all these idle PCs to cooperate together to solve some CPU-bounded jobs, which are traditionally run on the high performance but very expensive computers. In this study a heating process design problem for a reactor is used to be the example to demonstrate our method. First, we propose a GA-based approach to solve this design problem effectively. Based on a master-slave model, a Java-based distributed computing network is then built up to accelerate our system performance. The experimental results show that the solution quality found by our method is much better than the one by the try-and-error method. In addition, the distributed computing network we propose can also effectively accelerate the execution speed of the GA. |
