英文摘要 | As an English teacher to speakers of Taiwanese students, I found it challenging to adjust the teaching approaches, techniques, procedures, the role of teacher, the role of students and also the role of material. Nevertheless, with H. Douglas Brown's teaching by principles (Brown 1994), I was enlightened with a more thorough and crystal insight into the teaching of languages. In this paper, there will be a brief introduction of the three sound principles covering twelve sub-principles which teachers will find inspiring. Bearing the principles constantly in teachers' minds can always induce fruitful effects both on teachers' teaching and students' learning. In the second part of this paper, through the personal introspection on my teaching experience, some sub-principles will be elicited and discussed to demonstrate the effects of the application of the principles in my classes. Suggestions will also be provided. |
