英文摘要 | Dysphasia caused by migration of loosening screw of Caspar plate fixation is a rare complication and there were very few cases reported in the English literature. This report describes a case of 50-year-old man receiving caspar plate fixation. Six months later, he readmitted due to dysphasia. Lateral conventional plain film of the neck revealed screw loosening of Caspar plate. Then the screw removal was attempted, but no screw was found from anterior approach during second operation. Progressive floating of the screw was showed by C-arm fluoroscope. The consulting otolaryngiologist then removed the screw by esophagoscope. The screw head was noted to penetrated into hypopharynx. The postoperative course was uneventfully. |
