中文摘要 | 本文以臺灣大學「婦女與性別研究導論」一課在一九九八及一九九九年春季的教學為例,探討婦女與性別研究課程的教學設計、教學方法、教材使用、教學經驗及評估。 自一九九七年開始,臺灣大學始設婦女學程,「婦女與性別研究導論」是必修課之一。這門課授課時間為一學期,每學期三學分,每星期上課三小時。課程設計採取跨學科教學為原則,由多位教師協同教學;特別重視婦女與性別研究理論的探討,尤其是理論對問題思考的啟發,但也舉具體研究實例要襠活經驗及社會實踐來說明理論可能的落實或限制。每學期授課均自知識論的討論開始,由哲學系教授說明理論與經驗之間的互動與知識建構的關係,其次討論女性王義知識及女性主義理論,以探討女性主義對既定知識及觀點可能的重構。知識論的探討可說是這門課的授課基礎。就跨學科的訓練絘言,則選定若干主題,每一主題則由不同學門的教師討論各學門的知識建構理論,以及該學門婦女與性別研究實例,希望能藉由同一主題不同學門的探討,做跨學科的初步訓練,並開拓學生視野,每學期的授課內容也包括一定的本土經驗。 教育包括文獻及視聽材料。教學方法則特重學生為學習主體,課堂授課包括講演及討論,作業設計避免死記,而著重閱讀心得、生活體驗的撰寫和小型研究。 這門課最大功能或許在開拓視野,提供不同學科的刺激。在有限的時間內,這門課的教學也有其限制。學生並不會因修課而立即掌握跨學科研究的能力,但希望能引導學生未來可行的方向,並期待能啟發性別意識的思考。另一方面,為了加強跨學科訓練的效果,未來將嘗試每學期減少授課議題,但每一議題由較多學門就同一議題做探討;不同學期議題不同,學生也可重覆修課而仍有收穫。 |
英文摘要 | Taking the case of the course, "Introduction to Women and Gender Studies", taught at National Taiwan University, this paper discusses: the course design, teaching materials, teaching methods, students' assignments and evaluation of the course. The current discussion focuses on the teaching experiences in the spring semesters in 1998 and 1999. "Introduction to Women and Gender Studies" is a three-credit, one-semester course. The course teaches three hours a week. Lectures covers: (1)what and how constitutes knowledge, particularly the importance of feminism in remapping fields of knowledge, (2) native and personal experiences to make feminism relevant and comprehensible to students, (3)foreign precedents to compare and to broaden horizons. In order to introduce students into the field, this course takes a team-teach method for respective disciplines, however, with a feminism focus. The course is theory oriented, while offering evidences and experiences of feminist practice. Various themes have been discussed in the course, with an inter-discipline effort. Teaching materials mainly include texts and audio-video materials. Lectures, audio-video presentation, play, poem-reciting are all used in the classroom. Student's assignments are designed to make students themselves the subjects of learning, not just to copy and memorize whatever teachers teach. The hope for this course is to broaden students' horizons, stimulates them from an inter-disciplinary approach and guide them in ways to do further research or practice feminism. There are limits. There are not enough time for any lecturer to introduce one discipline just within one lecture (three hours). In the future, our plan is to offer less themes. Therefore more lecturers from respective disciplines may be able to examine the same theme. Hopefully, by doing so, the inter-disciplinary teaching method may turn out to be more fruitful. Also, different themes may be taught in each semester. |
