中文摘要 | 本研究探討臺灣杉永久樣區人工林分,於6年生及11年生經過修枝後,於24年生時砍伐樣木15株,調查其立木枝條大小及分布,並以弦面板及徑切面之方式製材,以探查枝節在樹幹中之分布及進行節癒合之解析,發現臺灣杉樹幹枝條平均每公尺18.4枝,活枝數目,修枝與未修枝者差異不大,約120枝,但枯枝數目,修枝者平均65枝,而未修枝則高達131枝,此顯示臺灣杉枝條枯死不易自然脫落而殘存樹幹,非藉由人工修枝不可;臺灣杉平均節徑,隨距髓心距離增加而增大,而單位材面之枝節數,則隨距髓心距離之增加而減低,經過修枝處理者,其趨勢更明顯;林木修枝後,枝徑或殘枝長若愈大,則修枝傷口癒合之長度與癒合所需之年數愈長,無節生產比率愈低,又枝條直徑和傷口包埋癒合之長度與年數大致呈直線及二次曲線之相關。本試驗對枝節之解析,可提供臺灣杉無節材生產預估之必要資訊。 |
英文摘要 | Pruning treatments had been applied to a Taiwania stand plantation with ages of 6 and 11. Among these treated trees 15 sample trees were selected to measure their size and numbers of knots when they reached age of 24. The distribution of knots in the stem was investigated on the tangentially sawed board, and the knot analysis was on the radially sawed board. The average number of branches for the sample trees was 18.4 per meter, while the average number of live branches was 120. The average number of dead branches in pruned plots was about 65, while it was about 131 in the unpruned plots. It indicated that dead branches had stayed on the tree for many years. The average number of knots per nuit lumber surface had a negative relationship with the distance from the pith, while the average knot size (diameter) had a positive relationship. This tendency was more significant on the pruned trees. Therefore, the pruning treatment was important to promote the grade of Taiwania cryptomerioides lumber. The larger the diameter of branch or the longer the branch stub left on the tree, the longer the healing process and the knottier the lumber we would produce. Moreover, the regression line of both branch diameter and the length of branch stub on the length or size of healing over the pruning wounds was a linear or a secondary order curve relationship. Because of a low regression coefficient, the healing process seemed to be controlled by many factors. The present study may cast some light for the management of the species in the future. |
