英文摘要 | Confucianism is not a religion, but it has religiousness. The religiousness and the religious spirit of Confucianism are mainly expressed by the ancestral worship and the worship of Heaven. This is different from the faith in the ultimate God, whereas both of them have the sentiments of ultimate and meanings of transcendence. Therefore, in the humanistic tendency in contemporary neo-Confucianism, religion and morality could be combined as the so-called humane religion or moral religion. If we compare this with Christianity—the possible dialogue and exchange between the two—there are indeed some concepts of categories which can be properly used, such as ‘piety’, ‘Heaven’, “Tao’, and ‘the ultimate good’ etc. In the filed of humanity in particular, contemporary neo-Confucianism (especially the philosophy of Tan Chung-yi) has provided contemporary neo-Confucianism and Christian philosophy with a of communication and that of popularization, on which the theory and practice of this dialogue are based. |
