英文摘要 | This paper describes the detailed heat transfer distributions of a gravitation affected atomized air-water jet impinging orthogonally on a target plate with differect ratios of air-to-water flow rates into the mist nozzle. A transient technique was used to measure the full field heat transfer coefficients on the impinging surface. Results showed that the exit orientation significantly affected the distribution patterns of heat transfer on the target plate. The earth gravity interacting with the water-film flow, the wall-jet flow and the main mist-jet itself created a variety of recirculating wall-jet flows above the water-film that led to the developments of several closelooped heat transfer contours on the impinging surface for mist-jet results. The trade-off between the competing influences of the different heat transfer mechanisms involving in an impinging mist jet made the inconsistent variation tendency of local maximum heat transfer value against either the increase of airflow or water-flow ratio. Because the cooling regions of the impinging mist-jets were considerably extened and the maximum heat transfer values could be possibly enhanced from the results of the pure air impinging jets, this cooling method was demonstrated as a favorable measure for the design of a heat-exchanging facility. |
