英文摘要 | Pressure vessels are normally used with high temperature and high pressure and with the result that they will easily degrade by creep or fatigue. In general, the weldment is the weakest point on pressure vessels because the quality of welding is not easy to control in which inclusions or other type of flaws may exist. After the vessels have been used for years, the flaws will begin to grow and cause structure failure in the worst case. Therefore, different methods have been used to monitor the condition of the vessels. For the reason that each method has its limitation, inspectors should have enough knowledge about defects in weldment, and select the appropriate methods accordingly to the requirements specifically. This report describes the potential defects in weldments and various nondestructive methods. |
