英文摘要 | The variation of geomagnetic field strength correlates the crust deformation. In 1993, along Hualien Stream, we found the northern section of the Huatong fault. For understanding the activity of this fault, two survey systems, the electronic distance measurement network (EDM, with survey lines RL, RM, RF, RN, RC and RE) and the geomagnetic field strength survey system (GEM, with stations YEM, CSA and LYS), were set up (Figure 1). The results of surveys in 1994 showed by EDM the compressive strain rate were ﹣ 2.08 μ strain/yr ± 0.88 (or ﹣ 2.08 × 10 ���� /yr ± 0.88) N37.0 °± 3.6 ° W and by GEM the geomagnetic field strength difference was 2.75nT/yr ± 0.78 across the Huatong fault. Comparing the results of EDM with GEM, the compressive strain rate ﹣ 1.00 μ strain/yr corresponded to the geomagnetic field strength difference 1.32nT/yr ± 0.56 between two sides of the fault. |
