英文摘要 | A recyclable high pressure scalding kettle (HPSK) to render non-diseased dead pigs and placenta has been successfully developed by Taiwan Sugar Corporation (TSC). In this experiment, sows were fed diet containing meat paste, cooked by HPSK, as main protein source ingredient. Their reproductive performance and the economic benefits were evaluated. Our purpose is to maintain balanced development between economic growth and environmental protection. We are continuing our efforts in practicing waste minimization, so that further development in the animal industry can be expected. Feed costs of approximately NT$ 3.94 million could be saved by suing this feed formulation annually. There were no differences (p>0.05) found in reproductive performance such as remating rate, total numbers of piglets born and weaned, or interval between weaning to mating of sow at the next parity. However, there was a very significant difference (p<0.01) in the interval of weaning to mating of sows above 7 days. |
