英文摘要 | The purpose of this study is to develop a computer model to explore the thermal expansion induced sliding contact between the heat bolt and the lip of a T-die attached to an extruder. Based on the longitudinal cross-section of the T-die, one simplified 2D, and two symmetrical 3D finite element models are built. In simulation of heat transfer from the heat bolt to the T-die, the convective coefficient and the radiative emissivity are considered temperature dependent and are combined to be an equivalent convective coefficient. The equivalent convective coefficients in the material property tables are modified to keep the compute temperatures close to the measured ones. In simulation of thermal expansion induced sliding contact between the heat bolt and the lip, contact elements and couple field elements are employed to compute temperature distributions and to figure out the maximum downward deflection of the lop and the transverse displacement of the heat bolt. How the parameters of the contact elements affect the convergence the nonlinear analysis is explored. The most feasible model is selected based on accuracy and computing time. Comparing the analytical results with the experimental ones, it is seen the deviation is about 12.9% for the 3D model, while it is 49.6% for the 2D model. The 3D model of the second type is feasible for qualitative analysis. |
