英文摘要 | Recently, feature-based design methods have been utilized extensively in many CAD/CAM packages. The major reason is that features are high level meaningful entities for human beings such that they can easily accommodate designers' intents. However, from the CAD file administration points of view, current file retrieval still apply traditional approach, the coding based method, in retrieving CAD drawing files. Although feature information has been embedded in several GT technologies, very few GT methods have included the feature spatial relationships. However, human beings can easily identify different kinds of form features and their topological relations from a part model. Therefore, it will be a proper direction if this human character can be used. In this paper, a conceptual CAD drawing retrieval system applying form features and their spatial relationships as indices in retrieving files is proposed. This system not only suggests a new direction for the file retrieval, but also extends the application of feature-based concepts from design to file retrieval. |
