中文摘要 | 本文旨在用統計的方法探討颱風於轉向時及轉向後,其速度減緩及速率趨增之統計機率。 本文將採用西北太平洋區,1949至1989年間共四十一年所有發生於該地區之拋物線形之颱風路徑作為統計的資料,以瞭解該現象發生之機率是若干?倘能如願,則其背後的原因為何?當可據之以為後續研究之依據。本文之製作方法是將每一選出之拋物線型之颱風路徑分解為南翼、轉向及北翼三路段。先求出此三路段內每6小時段落之平均速度,然後再計算整個路段之平均速率。如此則三個路段之平均速率均可求出。比較南翼與轉向兩路段之平均速率,即可知颱風於轉向時,其速率是否有減緩的現象,且其機率為若干,再比較轉向與北翼路段之平均速率,即可得知颱風於轉向後;其速率是否有增加之趨勢,且其機率為何? |
英文摘要 | The purpose of this research is to study the "slow down" and the "Speed up" phenomena of the typhoon speed when the parabolic-tracked typhoons approach and after their recurvature point. The data used in this study is collection of all parabolic tracks of typhoons that happened in the western part of north Pacific ocean between 1949 to 1989. By using the statistical technique the author wishes to know both how much is the probability that a parabolic tracked typhoon would slow down and speed up its speed when they approach and after their turning point and the reason behind. The methodology is to devide the parabolic track of a selected typhoon into three branches, namely the "Southern wing branch", the "Recurvature branch", and the "Northern wing branch". We then calculate the average speed of every 6-hour segment in each branch. Then the average speed of each branch can be calculated. By comparing the average speed of the "Southern wing branch" with the average speed of the "Recurvature branch" we can see if typhoon would slow down when they approach the "Recuvature poing" and also if the typhoon would speed up after their recurvature point. |
