英文摘要 | This paper discusses a research project which examines the effects and outcomes of the incorporation of networked computer enhanced language learning into curriculum by presenting WWW, computer-mediated communication (CMC), e-mail writing to integrate the four language skills as a whole. While 23 low-intermediate Chinese students as Control Group developed four language skills in the traditional teacher-centered model, the other 24 students as Experimental Group practiced through Internet with the teacher as a facilitator. The latter group interactively learned reading and listening on CD-ROM and WWW, writing on e-mail, speaking through CMC. T-test showed that both groups made progress on listening and reading after one-semester instruction. However, taking the incorporation of networked computer as dependent variable, one-way ANOVA analysis reported that Experimental Group scored significant difference on listening and reading. In order to investigate whether the progresses of reading and listening correlated with other skills such as language production and writing, students filled the conversation by watching multimedia CD-ROM and wrote a composition. The quantitative analysis revealed that whereas there was no significant difference on language production, Experimental Group surpassed Control Group on writing test, particularly on the content, vocabulary, and language use. The results concluded that interactive learning encouraged and enhanced students' motivation and promoted language acquisition and students benefited from networked computer instruction and thus, to some extent manipulate language more smoothly. |
