中文摘要 | 本研究係將黑色兩向色性染料S-416摻混入強誘電性液晶ZLI-4655-100中,藉由強 誘電性液晶的作用力及雙穩定性帶動正型二向色性染料順向偏轉,使原本需要兩片正交偏光 片組合成的強誘電液晶顯示器,可以除去一片偏光片或是使用兩片平行偏光片,成為類似染 料一向列型液晶 (Dye Guest-Host Nematic Liquid Crystal; DGHNLC) 的模式, 且針對染 料一張誘電性液晶 (DyeGuest-Host Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal; DGHFLC) 電場再配向 問題作探討。實驗結果顯示,染料一強誘電性液晶在單一偏光片與兩片平行偏光片模式下, 其偏光板的角度選擇性遠比使甩兩正交偏光片模式佳,且穿透率亦比純強誘電性液晶正交偏 光片模式強, 而電場再配向問題上,對染料 - 強誘電性液晶而言,交流電再配向比直流電 再配向具有較佳的順向性。 |
英文摘要 | This paper deals with a novel process to dispersed black dichroic dyes (S-416) in a varying of ferroelectric liquid crystal (ZLI-4655-100) to produce the Dye Guest-Host Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal (DGHFLC). The operation of DGHFLC depends on the co-operative orientationof a pleochroic dye by a ferroelectric liquid crystal host, so the mode can not make used oftwo cross polarizers. The DGHFLC mode is similar to Dye Guest-Host Nematic Liquid Crystals (DGHNLC) mode. The reorientation treatment of the electric field is the important factor of the contrast, so the method of the reorientation must be studied. The results show that DGHFLC has the wide-angle selectivity of polarizer than FLC inparallel-polarizers or only-polarizer. The transmittance is always better than FLC. The A.C. reorientation treatment is selected because that is better than D.C. reorientation treatment. |
